A background in Retail

Most of my work life has been in retail! With over 20+ years experience in this sector I started out as a Saturday girl working my local Co-Op.This was when my buzz for the Retail life began.I was then set on as a Christmas temp.

I started working for Woolworths and soon became an Entertainment Specialist! Wow! the buzz was amazing...helping customers find enjoyment in films and music.

I then took the buzz to a different level working for Aldi! In the days before computerised tills.It was fast paced and fun.Amazing the customers.They couldn't understand how we learnt all the prices..and would often test us.

My next step was with Barrel Foods(a loose food company).I quickly fast tracked from Assistant manager to Store Manager.Luckily my area manager saw my need to be out and about and I started helping train new managers/setting up new stores.This is where my trouble shooting days started too!

This experience took me onto Home Bargains.I was Store Manager at two stores before again helping the area manager with training new managers/interviewing/stocktaking other stores in the area/setting up new stores.

After deciding I wanted to be out and about and get into the retail refit side more I took a job with Martin McColls,where I was a project Coordinator for over 5 years.Setting up new stores/refurbs/aquisitions.

My next step was to progress to Superstores.I worked for an agency supporting Sainsbury's refits and even worked for Sainsburys for a short while,before deciding I missed being out and about and went back to the agency.Again working on Sainsbury's refits/refurbs/new builds.

I have a vast knowledge of the retail industry.Whilst the buzz is great! I understand how stressful it can be with deadlines/targets/budgets/time schedules/sales/staffing/profit & loss ....to mention but a few.

Whilst working in Retail the last 12 years I have developed my Spiritual side which has lead to me gaining my Reiki qualifications and setting up Mandy's Reiki.

I have always had a deep desire to help people,with an extensive Customer Service record my aim is to bring Reiki/healing/positive thinking/spiritual development to the lives of people who are looking to not only get help with aches/pains/mental & physical issues but to bring Reiki to the lives of people who wish to better themselves!

Reiki helps bring a calm approach.With a strong focus on what matters and what does not.

Reiki improves health to mind,body,spirit and soul.
